Welcome to the very first Sliding Doors, where each week we’ll run through the OPL teams with some spicy if/then takes, sometimes there will be an additional bonus one around a special topic.
You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, here are your sliding doors, OPL preseason edition!
You’re an Avant Gaming fan,
don’t be surprised by another mediocre split. You should be accustomed to it by now.
You’re hoping the Chiefs can wind the clock back to 2016,
you’ll need Claire to be in Rift Rivals 2018 form.
We’re going to trust the process from the Dire Wolves camp,
this split demands answers after an awful 2019. Chippys’ return could be crucial to their resurgence.
You’re hoping to be singing Gravitas Glory this split,
you might be looking for opportunities few and far between.
You’re the favourites coming into the season,
the players better be prepared for the pressure. For such a storied org, need to remember their trophy case matches Doublelift’s in 2014.
You’ve missed the OPL offseason and follow Mammoth on Twitter,
we don’t expect you to know anyone on their roster.
After two years of being ‘contenders’,
they’ll need to shake the looming tag of a pretender this year after only appearing in one grand final.
You have one opportunity to make a first impression,
better make it count, there’s big shoes to fill and a squad that’s desperate to impress.
The LCS can sign a sponsorship with Bud Light,
they’ve proven the vast majority of the audience is over 21. It’s time to push back Friday’s broadcast to a worker-friendly time.
That’s all we have for this week! We’ll be back every Friday with a new Sliding Doors for the OPL.
The Oceanic Pro League returns today.
