Week 2 winds up today with many chances at tremendous upsets on the cards. Order and Chiefs have, so far, emerged unscathed from said upsets, with five out of six wins between them.
The two perennial playoff performers will be looking to continue their momentum and a loss carries early meaning for each team — Order wants to maintain their unbeaten start and a second loss will push the Chiefs into a mid-table dogfight they will want to avoid.
Reece “Ties” Perry breaks down Week 2, Day 2’s feature match.
Perry’s Pick of the Week: Order vs Chiefs
We’ve only seen a little of Order so far this LCO season, but from what I’ve seen thus far, I’m liking Chiefs more than I do this resurgent Order lineup; the Chiefs should have the narrow edge in what I’m sure will be a tight contest in their first Split 2 meeting.
Order flattered to deceive in a cupcake (no, not that Cupcake) week one schedule in which they struggled to put away Legacy Esports in particular. I have a feeling Order could be the team that really makes a push to contend this split, and as I’ve long said I expect good teams to bury lesser ones.
Last week marked a missed opportunity on that front.
The Chiefs enter with a worse record but a promising showing, particularly from Tristan “Lived” Fulcher, who flashed in their win over Mammoth.
I liked what I saw from their bot lane and, with a little more coordination between Swathe and the laners, they could have put an even bigger scare into Peace, even with their big-name Babip signing. Right now they look a touch more cohesive after a week of play.
As Order continues to develop with Shane “Kevy” Allen the improvements should come. It won’t be enough in their week two matchup, but I’m still leaving the door open. Max “Maximize” Yaremenko could be a key to an Order victory here, as I think Order will look to attack solo lanes than play into Mboma and Dragku.
Perry’s Week 2, Day 2 Predictions
- Chiefs def. Order
- Dire Wolves def. Mammoth
- Pentanet def. Legacy
- Peace def. Gravitas
