Sliding Doors: LCO 2021 Split 2, Week 9

Welcome back to Sliding Doors for the Door Dash LCO Split 2!

Each week we run through the League of Legends Circuit Oceania teams with sometimes spicy, sometimes nice if/then takes, and, every now and then, an additional bonus one around a special topic.

You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, here are your sliding doors for LCO Split 2, Week 9!

There was ever a week to 2-0,

Chiefs better be hungry for this one. Not only does it secure first place, but it puts some fear in their playoff rivals.

There was an analogy we could use for Dire Wolves’ 2021,

they are the epitome of a pendulum, swinging from total inters to LCO winners. I wonder where they’ll be hovering come playoffs.

You had told me that Gravitas would have been eligible for playoffs ahead of the final week,

I would have told you you’re dreaming. Exciting developments made this split after they decided to keep a solid five. Who could have guessed?

You had told me that Legacy would have been eligible for playoffs ahead of the final week,

I also would have told you you’re dreaming. The reason isn’t so much their improvement, but their ability to nab wins out of thin air (looking at you, Peace).

The most exposure you’ve gotten since 2019 is a sympathetic Reddit thread,

some real change is due in the Mammoth camp come 2022. Failure in the post-Worlds ownership group is expected like death and taxes at this point.

You’re Kevy carrying this team across the map in most games,

I’d be asking Beats for a fair 50-50 split of the DoorDash vouchers he’s received. Man has been robbed one too many times.

Something feels wrong,

it’s Peace’s incredibly suspect roster swaps every week. Are we a Twitlonger away from a donezo manifesto, or are they really trying to experiment from barely fifth place?

There’s something that’s disappointing about Pentanet looking vulnerable,

it’s the thought of not scrolling through Pentanet’s Twitter at Worlds. I need that in my life.

That’s all we have for this week! Check back every Tuesday for more Sliding Doors!
