2013 saw the Penny Arcade Expo land Down Under for the first time in Melbourne, immediately instating itself as one of *the* must-attend exhibitions for gaming and pop culture fans across the country.
PAX Australia returns October 6-8 for it’s tenth anniversary at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre — and tickets are on sale right now.
Single day badges for Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be available for $70 each, with the ever-popular Early Bird 3-Day badge selling for $175 — but it’s only while stock lasts.
“PAX is always special, but this year is particularly meaningful as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this incredible event,” said PAX Australia Event Director Lauren Luciani.
“Time flies when you’re having fun and that is certainly true of getting to work on PAX Aus. The whole PAX team is dedicated and passionate about bringing the community a PAX Aus to remember.”
Initially held only in Seattle, PAX expanded across the United States through the early 2010’s, with Melbourne, Australia chosen to be the first city internationally to host the expo.
From ’13 onwards, PAX Australia became a mainstay of the gaming and pop culture expo calendar.
COVID put a stop to the streak in 2020, with the Australian iteration making a grand return in 2022.
In 2023, PAX Australia will cap off the Melbourne International Games Week, a nine day festival that links numerous digital gaming industry events and conferences.
The queue for PAX Australia tickets is open now, with more details about the event’s planned schedule still to be announced.
