EPOS joins as official audio partner for OPL 2020 Split 2

Riot Games Oceania has partnered with audio solutions & technology manufacturer EPOS and its commercial business arm ‘Sennheiser Communications’ for the second split of the Oceanic Pro League’s 2020 season.

The Danish company has been named the Official Audio Partner of the premier Australian League of Legends competition for the remainder of the year, the involved parties confirmed in the press announcement distributed to Snowball Esports this week.

Daniel Ringland, head of Riot Games in Oceania, said everyone involved with the matchday and general operations of the Pro League were “thrilled” to be bringing another sponsor onboard for Split 2.

“The continued growth of the OPL in Split 1 was fantastic to see, and we are thrilled to bring EPOS on board as an official partner to support and enhance the OPL,” Ringland said on the newly-announced competition partnership.

“As a business [Riot Games] wants to work with leaders in their field and when it comes to audio, EPOS have incredible technology and products that will deliver an exceptional audio performance to the league.”

The OPL was forced to move to an online format towards the end of the first split of the year — which Legacy Esports would go on to win — due to the spread of COVID-19. All teams are now playing from either organisation-owned gaming houses, or from player homes.

Maja Frølunde Sand-Grimnitz, head of global marketing, gaming for EPOS, said the company was looking forward to partnering with the OPL to provide their “powerful audio solutions” for the league as it continues to deliver a totally online experience.

“As a business, we bring 115 years of audio expertise to the OPL partnership, and we want to enhance the league by delivering our state-of-the-art audio equipment to ensure a high-end audio experience for all involved,” she said.

EPOS joining as the official audio partner of the OPL marks the third big-brand partnership Riot Games Oceania has secured for the LoL competition. McDonalds and Neosurf are both set to remain as gameday sponsors until the end of 2020.

The OPL’s second split of the year begins this Friday. Split 1 third-place finishers the Chiefs are set to open proceedings when they face off against Pentanet.GG from 4pm AEST live on twitch.tv/riotgamesoce and watch.lolesports.com.
