Sliding Doors: OPL 2020 Split 2, Week 4

Welcome back to Sliding Doors, where each week we run through the OPL teams with sometimes spicy, sometimes nice if/then takes, and every now and then an additional bonus one around a special topic.

You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, here are your sliding doors for the OPL Split 2, Week 4!

You’re wondering whether Avant is on pace for playoffs or just shy of it,

Pentanet this week will be a good litmus test.

There is one player who has really proved themselves in the first two weeks,

it’s Dragku. He had big shoes to fill, and outside of a mediocre first game, has looked very solid. Big ups in the role swap.

The Dire Wolves are still playing catch up,

they’re really up against it with Order and Legacy on the card this week.

You’re keen to start belting out Gravitas Glory,

start learning the words: it’s due this afternoon.

You were bold enough to predict this squad to go undefeated (like me),

you probably had a few nervous moments watching the Pentanet game. We’re in the clear still though.

This team has any chance of winning a game this split,

this Friday is probably one of only three chances, and I still don’t rate it.

You’re hoping to see the 1-1 curse broken,

a win on Friday should make a 2-0 easy picking.

You’re a neutral fan to the OPL,

Pentanet is doing lots to win you over. They had Legacy on the ropes and closed off their game against Gravitas with style. Plus, they have Pabu.

That’s all we have for this week. Check back every Friday for more sliding doors!

The Oceanic Pro League returns today.
