Sliding Doors: OPL 2020 Split 2, Week 5

Welcome back to Sliding Doors, where each week we run through the OPL teams with sometimes spicy, sometimes nice if/then takes, and every now and then an additional bonus one around a special topic.

You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, here are your sliding doors for the OPL Split 2, Week 5!

You’re not sure where Avant sits in the middle of the pack,

neither do we. They are seemingly an enigma this season revolving around Chazz. If you were expecting some analysis after the ‘if’ statement, I’m sorry.

You were looking for the most iconic duo in the OPL,

Dragku and Yuumi has to be up there. Just look at his Twitter. Don’t tell him she’s getting nerfed though.

The Dire Wolves can’t go 2-0 this week against Avant and Mammoth,

I’ve got serious doubts on whether they can match last split’s performance.

You’re still licking your wounds from last week,

top up the first aid kit, because it only gets worse with Chiefs and Legacy on the card this weekend.

We were to hazard a guess as to what could stop Legacy this split,

we are starting to get into “Acts of God” territory to come up with reasons. This team looks unstoppable.

There is even only an outside chance of Mammoth getting off the bottom of the table this split,

they can hold their heads high knowing there’s still two games versus Gravitas on the horizon. The dream is still alive.

Order can go 1-1 this week (and let’s be real, it’s a case of when, not if),

their curse is also secretly a blessing. Both Legacy and Pentanet on the same weekend is a difficult test.

Pentanet can keep innovating week-on-week and force their opposition to stay on their toes,

we can’t wait to see what they’ll bring when the playoffs kick off. This team in a best-of-five scenario looks incredibly exciting.

That’s all we have for this week. Check back every Friday for more sliding doors!
