Sliding Doors: LCO 2021 Split 1, Week 1

Welcome back to the highly anticipated return of Sliding Doors for 2021 this year covering the LCO!

Each week we run through the League of Legends Circuit Oceania teams with sometimes spicy, sometimes nice if/then takes, and, every now and then, an additional bonus one around a special topic.

You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

You’re waiting for the Chiefs to lift their first trophy since 2016,

you’ll probably be used to making up the podium positions by now.

You’re barking mad to see the Dire Wolves return to their glory days,

2021 might be your year. Dave Harris didn’t just save Oceanic League of Legends ;).

You’re hoping to recognise a player on this roster,

you’ll soon realise it’s full of Nobody’s and a budget Piglet.

You were inspired by the run at Worlds Legacy put together in 2020,

you’d feel robbed about this year’s roster. It’s like 2019 all over again.

You’re all for blooding new talent,

spin us a narrative to get excited about. Word is you guys spent more on the video than on the roster, and yet we know nothing about them.

We were to revive an old meme for the LCO,

you could do a lot worse than the “Order 7th” one. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, but don’t let the truth get in the way of a good meme.

You’re riding on the Peace train,

get your Cat Stevens spotify playlists ready, you’re in for a bumpy ride.

You had a first solid year in the OPL,

they’ve moved strength to strength in the inaugural LCO. One can hope the money spent was worth it.

We learned anything from the failures of the OPL,

am I excited about 6pm weeknight time slots. I’ll see you all for beers in the Snowball Esports Discord watch party. Hallelujah!

If you’d like to join us for LCO watch parties, join the Snowball Discord.

That’s all we have for this week! Check back every Monday for more Sliding Doors!

The League of Legends Circuit Oceania begins today.
