Sliding Doors: LCO 2021 Split 1, Week 3

Welcome back to the third edition of Sliding Doors for 2021 this year covering the LCO!

Each week we run through the League of Legends Circuit Oceania teams with sometimes spicy, sometimes nice if/then takes, and, every now and then, an additional bonus one around a special topic.

You might be familiar with this concept if you’re an AFL fan, which is where we got the idea. So without further ado, here are your sliding doors for LCO Split 1, Week 3!

You weren’t sold on the Chiefs heading into LCO,

you should be now. They’re the quiet little performers of the league, and could surprise come playoffs.

You’re wondering why Dire Wolves are looking less 2018 and more 2019,

I’m about as clueless as you. A team with this much talent shouldn’t be struggling this hard, yet here we are.

You’re a Gravitas fan looking for something to look forward to this week,

it’s probably the weekend. This week’s games aren’t going to make for pleasant viewing.

You’re facing Legacy and you give Incursio his Katarina,

you should fire your drafting coach. Pentanet were very lucky to come away with a win.

You were surprised by Mammoth’s win over Gravitas,

don’t be surprised if they take down Legacy. They just have to remember the aforementioned.

There’s a dark horse for the most important competition of 2021,

it’s Maximize in the LCO banter bar tab. Trust me, he’s worth a follow.

You wanted a debut to get excited about,

Kevy absolutely delivered. I understand Only is a great player but, feels very stiff for him to have been cut by the Dire Wolves.

You were getting hyphy about Pentanet,

putting the brakes on the Peace train is a must. Tuesday is looking like a Grand Final preview (god bless 6PM starts too, else us workers would miss this banger).

That’s all we have for this week! Check back every Monday* before the LCO action for more Sliding Doors!

Editor’s note: Wray submitted on Monday this week. Blame the editor for lateness.
